c.1932 Hubley, No.649 Harley-Davidson Hill Climber Motorcycle

c.1932 Hubley, No.649 Harley-Davidson Hill Climber Motorcycle

Extraordinary example of Hubley's classic No. 649 Harley-Davidson cast iron Hill Climber motorcycle with all original paint, parts, and tires. Gorgeous combination of robin's-egg blue and "textured" black matte. Purchased at James D. Julia Auctioneers from their Fall, 2005 auction.

What a color combination! Brilliant robin's-egg blue beautifully contrasts the black gas tank, engine and helmet. The black paint was specially textured and used by Hubley on only a handful of toys. It has a slight rough feel to it and is more resistant to chipping which is why it looks so fabulous.

Features separate (swivel) head, solid white rubber tires with nickel plated steel spokes. Embossed into the left side gas tank is "45". "H-D" is embossed into the right side gas tank. Rider has a large number "2" on his back. The number is raised and painted gold.

Size: 6½".
